Privacy policy
Who we are
This website is run by the publisher of Virtual Autism: What Happens When the Screens Go Off, a book whose title is a phrase parents search for; “virtual autism” is not a diagnosis. You can reach us at contact@virtualautismbook.com.
What we collect and why
If you join the email list, we keep your email address so we can tell you when the book is out, and later about new editions and translations. If you use the contact form, we keep your name, email address and message so we can reply. Our site provider collects standard visitor statistics such as pages viewed and the general location of visitors. This site sells nothing; the book is sold by the stores linked from it, under their own privacy policies.
Who handles your data for us
The website, its forms and its analytics are provided by Squarespace. Email is provided by Google Workspace. Both are United States companies, so your information may be stored and processed in the United States. We keep your email address on the list until you unsubscribe, and contact-form messages for as long as we need them to answer you and keep a record of the exchange.
What we do not do
We do not sell your information. We do not send marketing email to people who have not asked for it, and every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
Children
This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Your choices
You can leave the email list at any time with the link in any email. You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you by writing to contact@virtualautismbook.com. Residents of some places, including the United Kingdom and the European Union, have further rights under local law, and we honor them.
Cookies
The site uses the cookies Squarespace needs to run it and to show us visitor statistics. Your browser lets you block or delete cookies.
